Government identity guidelines
Here's where to look for guidance on using the bold and modern, yet warm and welcoming identity of the Plushie Kingdom Government.
Colours
Background colour
For backgrounds of pages like this one, use pure white (#FFFFFF)
Text colours
Use either pure white (#FFFFFF) or pure black (#000000) depending on the background colour. Text coloured with the accent colours shown below isn't frequently used but isn't prohibited either.
Accent colours
We use a range of vibrant accent colours, each representing one of our ministries. Central Ministry blue represents both the ministry itself and the Government as a whole, symbolising its role as the leading authority of the Government. If text is shown on these colours, adjust the text's colour for better contrast and readability as shown below.
Typography
Headers, Titles and Main Text
For major headlines, titles and other significant text, use IBM Plex Sans. For weights, we usually use the font in bold (700), but regular (400) can also be used for "lighter" titles and subheadings.
Body text
For body text, content, buttons and any other uses not mentioned for IBM Plex Sans, use Mona Sans. We use the font in its regular weight (400).
Animation principles
Smooth and simple
Animations must be smooth, simple and quick to prevent distracting from the content. Spring physics animations are discouraged, but not forbidden. Ensure animations remain consistent with those on our website and in our videos.
Avoid blurs and fades
As animations may be inserted into videos using chroma key, avoid using animations that change opacity, as those changes make it difficult for animations to be cleanly inserted. Blurs and fades also do not fit our "smooth and simple" principle, potentially making things harder to read or see. Consider using wipes instead of fades.
Don't overuse animations
Each animation must serve a clear purpose, such as highlighting interactable elements or drawing attention to important content. Too many animations will make content feel busy and cluttered, while too less animations will make content feel unpolished and flat.
In writing
Key terms
Always write "Plushie Kingdom", "Kingdom", "Government", and ministry names in Title Case (first letter capitalised) when referring to these entities in writing.
Government members
When mentioning plushies who work in the Government, write their job title first, then their full name, all in Title Case, for example: Prime Minister Pink Bear Bear, Defence Minister Stitch
"Defence" or "Defense"?
Defence (unless you don't know what a kilometer is). Don't feel bad for not knowing, we only realised this after making all the ministry assets and had to redo some of them. (we even almost typed 'defense' in the example above :/)
"Plushie Kingdom Government", "Government" or "pk-gov"?
Only use the full term "Plushie Kingdom Government" in formal contexts, or mentioning it where other governments may be present. "Government" refers to the same entity anyways, and is shorter to write. "pk-gov" is NOT the same as "Plushie Kingdom Government" or "Government", as it is the platform to access Government information and services (the website and YouTube channel)
